Another issue was quite interviewees, one group we interviewed mumbled so we didn't use the footage. This worked the best but we still only got about 3 interviews. Finding people to interview was surprisingly difficult as many of them refused either because their shop was busy, they were too busy or they took the notion of a documentary about kiwiana too seriously and refused on the grounds they didn't know much (we told them that it wouldn't matter), after a long spell of rejection we realised it was best to ask shop keepers in empty stores. So that automatically limited our camera time to about 15 minutes. The first issue came when I realised I hadn't charged the camera enough. Like always, there were issues but this episode of filming took problems to a new degree. It was a success because we managed to get a range of interviews. We asked them questions about what they liked about New Zealand and questions about their thoughts of kiwiana both back in the day and the now. We asked people for interviews and then got them to sign forms. Later that day we travelled to Botney Towns Centre. I decided that I would hold his position for him while he changed, all Jordan needed to do was look at me and he would go back to his original position. We looked at the footage and sometimes the positions changed so dramatically, we were forced to redo it.

One issue was Jordan found it hard to resume his position in between the periods of change in clothes. So we used friend Jordan Oosterhoff, who's height in part made the footage feel more natural. Firstly, we used Daniel Voykovich, but for some reason, and it's really hard to describe why, he just didn't fit the part. The process was quite lengthy as Jordan had to constantly make an action, stop, change clothes, resume position, act surprised and repeat. In it we dressed Jordan Oosterhoof as a New Zealander and slowly changed his clothes so that he looked American (i.e. On the 2nd of March my group filmed the morph scene. For example, when Stuart forgot to pass me the L&P I shouted at him and then made eye contact with him when it was his time to pass me the bottle. We improved on these foibles by emphasizing the thing that went wrong, and then made sure we didn't do it. Daniel sometimes filmed it incorrectly and we were left odd shots. Before the success though, there were problems, there was the stuffing up of lines (often) and my assistant (brother) sometimes failed to do what he was told, like passing me the L&P on cue. It was successful because we managed to finish it with all our aims accomplished. We completed the introduction scene in which I walk down the tunnel of kiwiana landmarks.
